For the PCB industry two factors are of paramount importance - dust free surroundings and plentiful and stable electrical power. In the late eighties when the project was on the anvil Himachal Pradesh offered these two facilities. Thus though the unit does not nestle in the lap of mountains it is located close to the foot hills. Hence there is plentiful greenery nearby which makes for attractive surroundings.
